What does this test consist of?<\/p>\n

First of all, let me ask you a question:<\/p>\n

Do you usually accept feedback from people who work with you?<\/h3>\n

I am not talking about your boss, but rather about colleagues and staff members with whom you share the workday.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m sure you do!<\/h3>\n

But if you want to increase your awareness that you are part of the small fraction who love feedback even when it comes “from the bottom” and who systematically treasure it, then you can do this exercise with me:<\/p>\n

  1. Get a sheet of paper and a pen;<\/em><\/li>\n
  2. Write down the names of all your staff members and colleagues (if you are a galactic director stop yourself to the first line);<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. Circle the names of the people who, in the past two weeks have disagreed with you or criticized you;<\/em><\/li>\n
  4. Now make an x next to the names of people, you circled in step 3, you like.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Finally, go ahead and<\/p>\n

    email me the number of people you circled in steps 3 and 4.<\/h3>\n

    Then, if you like, we will comment together.<\/p>\n
