Motivation for affiliation (general)

Inner drive impelling a person to create a wide and close network of social connections aimed at developing close relationships and mutual support. Within an organization, people tend to choose friendly people as staff members, and to spend time with people within their own relational network. They do not gain pleasure from the possibility of prevailing over others or from the achievement of performance oriented to effectiveness and efficiency.
