Time, discretionary

Working time dedicated to discretionary activities, designed to create added value for the organization, such as for instance business development, innovation, maximization of effectiveness and efficiency. Together with the time dedicated to staff, it is part of the time managed autonomously. It is different from the time required by the role, by the boss and from the time dedicated to staff. It is the most precious type of time, and risks being depleted more quickly than the other types, because it is the resource we draw from when other commitments require extra time. This is the time when we can sit down and design new ways of performing our role, contributing to the organization’s effectiveness and efficiency and making our work appreciated.
